Runners know that carbs can aid endurance. And endurance is what the 22,000 people participating in Sunday’s Chevron Houston Marathon and Aramco Houston Half Marathon need.
So to help runners properly fuel before the races, a number of Houston restaurants will roll out the pasta carpet, featuring pasta dishes or menus:
Quattro, Four Seasons Hotel: Chef Maurizio Ferrarese has created a “Carboholic” buffet featuring protein- and carbohydrate-rich dishes, including spinach and cheese tortellini, Mediterranean pasta salad, country-style potato salad, penne with sausage and sun-dried tomatoes, and orecchietti with grilled chicken and vegetables. The Quattro buffet is $46, plus tax and gratuity. 1300 Lamar, 713-650-1300.
Voice Restaurant and Lounge, Hotel Icon: A $29 three-course, pasta-tasting menu devised by chef Greg Lowry will be available Friday-Sunday. 220 Main, 832-667-4470.
Fratelli’s Italian Restaurant: Pennette Fratelli (tubes with grilled chicken, sun-dried tomatoes, spinach and goat cheese), lasagna Bolognese and pasta al forno (pasta baked with three cheeses) will be available from the menu. 10989 Northwest Freeway, 713-957-1150."
